Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson grew as a child in Mexico in a family who was passionate about music. When she was a kid, she listened to a lot of classical music and old boleros. In addition, she was a fan of traditional ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves opera and tangos, as well as all dramatic performances. Her mother taught her to sing, however she started intensive training in vocals through Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara before moving on to Toluca in The School of Sacred Music. While a young student and professional, she sang with numerous chamber ensembles and opera choruses in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. After 2000, she emigrated back to in the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she settled in her home in southern California. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. She is passionate about performing, music, and the arts keeps her involved in local activities in both her capacity as an artist and teacher. Ana was a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as well being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to have the opportunity to be able to share her love for traditional Latin American music. She hopes that this will encourage younger generations to continue the tradition.
